Hains: In Hainsight: Saturday Night Wasn't Alright
The diminished Habs couldn’t recover from giving up 3 goals in the middle frame and lost 5-0 to the Senators on Saturday night. - Karine Hains
aww what kind of dog is it..? and what's his name?
also,
some will need to realize that Beck project as a good third-line shutdown center in the NHL, not a top-6 forward and revise their expectations.
not saying we should consider him as a lock for becoming top 6 material, but is it already definitely out of the question? I'm asking because he's only 18, and looks like a smart player (he didn't do anything spectacular last night, but no one on the habs did lol). |

I don't know how to say this, it's a bit confusing...
Pat, I agree with you! |

Beck is a SOLID #3 shut down C.....perhaps even with an upisde....he did NOT look out of place on any shift.....REALLY?....are we even questioning his abilities after stepping in for one game and looking as decent as he did last night?.....dude is a revelation at 18!!!!!!!!.....he looked as good last night as he did in pre season and he was one of not their best player all pre season. |

She's a morkie, which is a cross between a yorksire and a maltese and she's called Zelda (what can I say, had to look to my Nintendo roots for her name).
i'm not having a go at Beck, just saying that he projects as a third line center, which most scouts agreed on and tbh I'm glad he didn't luck out and do something spectacular in his first game like Poehling did, which was just about the worst thing that happened to him giving fan unrealistic expectations.

Zelda, noice.
anyways concerning Beck, I don't necessarily disagree with that assessment, I just find it's a bit early to put a stamp on him. it isn't such a turrible thing either if he becomes a solid 3rd line C.. as for the Poehling reference I get what you're saying, but I think in his case it didn't look like he was putting a ton of effort to get better and grab a spot on the roster. if Beck has the right attitude and proper work ethic I wouldn't be worried if he did have one of those nights and had to manage sudden expectations.

1- we aren't really questioning his abilities, just talking about his potential ceiling as an NHL player, and 2 - it's still too early to call him a "solid #3 shut down C" imho, he literally played his first NHL game last night.

They were not wearing them last night
It was still 5-0 at the end of the day
maybe it's not the jerseys |

I think most people understand there isn't an actual evil curse on those jerseys lol... but they do have a turrible record wearing them, it is what it is.

I understand it's a deep draft, and I would obviously love it if the habs won the lottery, but I have zero interest in following the games this way, (frank) that. |

it's annoying as (frank)
look at their record in december and it's pure garbage. And that started with Monahan going down.
That's more meaningfull and something to talk about than the god damn color blue |

then again, it's not really fun for me to tune in and actually watch the games at this point. Probably the same for most people so they have nothing else, even if it's pathetic as (frank) |

of course they lost games even when they weren't wearing the retro jerseys lol... but the point is, if you combine the team's record with both the dark and baby blue jerseys, it's a sufficient sample size to say the team sucks when they wear them. not sure what the fuss is about.

I dunno, the games against TOR and BOS were very entertaining, to each his own I guess. |

I haven't watch the boston game. Toronto game was on in a bar and nobody really paid attention.
I gave up when they did |

the game against DET was also entertaining. they've had stinkers this year but it isn't as horrible as last year imho. |
